How To Change Basic Home Lighting?

The lighting of your home plays a measure role in the looks of your home. That means if you wish to update the look and feel of your home then you can easily do that by changing lighting of your home. Here, I am sharing some tips that can explain how to change basic home lighting in easy and effective manner. 

Turn off the power: 
To change the lighting of your home, first you need take good care about your security as well. So, when you change the lighting of your home, then make sure first your turn of the power before making any changes in it. To turn of the power you can simply switch off the MCB of that particular room and you can have safe working place. In case, you are not able to find the MCB for that particular room, then you can turn off the entire power supply, but in any case make sure you do not change the lighting of your home when power is turned on.

Remove the old fixture: 
To install new lighting in your home, first you will need to remove old lighting or fixture. So, after turning of the power supply, remove the old fixtures for changing your home lighting. While removing old fixture, you need to make sure that you take care of your security as well. I am suggesting this because sometime removing of fixture can be very tough and you might get hurt while removing the old fixture from the fitting. In order to remove the fixture in a safe way, you can take the help of special tools for that. 

Install the bulbs: 
After you remove the old fixture, then you can install new bulb in easy way. For installing new bulb, first you will need to remove old bulb from the fixture. When you remove the old bulb, then it is essential that you do it slowly else you might crack the bulb and you might hurt yourself by that. Once you are done with the removing of old bulb or lighting from your home then you can remove the lighting to install new bulb over there. This will help you change your new bulb in easy manner without worrying about anything.

Connect the wires: 
When you install the bulb, then make sure you check all the wire that are connected with your fixture. If cables are not connected properly then you need to connect the wire for same. When you connect the wire, then make sure you tighten all the loose wires in a proper manner. Also, when you tighten the cables or wires, then use good quality tap to seal it. This taping will make sure you will not have any leak of electricity and you will be able to get the best result in easy manner. 

Tighten the screws: 
When you are done with the connecting of cables and fitting of fixtures in a proper manner, then make sure you check screws are properly tighten. When you will properly tighten the screws then you will have no reason to worry about the dropping of your lighting fixture. This will also make sure you will have no bad happening in your home because of any dropping of light fixture on your family member or loved one. So, when you are done with the installation fixture, make sure your tighten screen properly.

Install trim and covers: 
To get better look in your home with the help of lighting, it is advised that install all the trims and covers also as soon as your fix the fixtures. When you will install the trim and cover along with installation of new lighting in your home, then you will get good look with it. Other than this, you will not face any kind of dust, dirt or similar other issues also that you get if your lighting fixtures have some open space in your home. It will also make sure you do not get any blank look in your home because of incomplete light fixtures. 

Check things again: 
Now you just need to turn on the light, but before turning on the light it is a good idea that you cross check everything. Sometime people miss few basic things after installing new lighting in their home and because of that minor mistake they end up having so many problems. So, I would ask your to check things again before you turn on the light and if you find any issue in it, then correct that issue. And if you get no problem, then you can certainly move ahead and you can turn on the light in your home. 

Turn on the light: 
After this you can simply turn on the light in your home and you can check things if it’s working properly. When you will turn on the lighting in your home, then you will know if things are working properly or not. If you find things are going properly, then you have nothing to do, but if it’s not working then make sure you turn off the light again and you correct that issue.
